Lyrics aren't supported in the Music app on iOS 5 (I don't think that Apple have said why), and I can't see anything mentioned about it on this page about iOS 6.

There are Apps available in the app store that allow you to view lyrics of your songs - but I cannot offer any recommendations since I haven't used them.
