Iphone Lost by Royal Mail

I have had a screen issue with my iphone 4s so I booked mail in service with Applecare, they sent me the shipment box with return label which I used when posted back to Applecare.

It's 15 days since then and Apple still has not received my handset so chances are that it has gone walking within Royal Mail network somewhere😟

I do have proof of postage which I obtained from post office when I posted the device. At the moment my only concern is what would happen if it really has been lost and does not reach Apple Care?

Anyone else has had similar issue? What was the outcome?

PS. I bought this phone on ebay so I do not have original purchase receipt if that matters.

Any input will be much appreciated.............

Contact AppleCare again and provide them the case number you set the repair up under and tracking information for your shipment, although they will probably have if if you refer to your case number. Royal Mail will not do anything for you. Apple typically does not insure shipments, instead opting for "self insurance" or covering the occasional shipment that go astray or gets broken. It is cheaper than insuring every shipment they make. If you used the box and return label that Apple provided, they will take care of you.

OK, I am in the US, not the UK and do not deal with Royal Mail, but unless things are drasticly different there, Apple is the contact for this, not Royal Mail. Because he used the provided the shipping labels by Apple, then Apple is considered the shipper. Therefore, any contact with the carrier (Royal Mail or here in the US, UPS, FedEx, etc) must be done by Apple (the shipper). If you call Apple, they will typically send out a replacement and then deal with the missing product on the back side with the shipper.

So, as I said before, call Apple. Refer to the case number you used to set up the service and provide them with the tracking number. They will take care of you.

Thanks for reply Seventy One.

I will be in touch with Applecare and update you how it goes.

However, even if I have to persue the claim with Royal Mail by myself, I would not need any written declaration from Apple since it's Royal Mail that needs to provide me with proof/signature if they are going to dispute a non receipt claim as item was tracked and require signatures on delivery.
