Sep 13, 2012 1:00 AM in response to chinolunaby StefanSchmidbauer,Hi! This seems to bee a common problem (i. e. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4094417?tstart=0) and i have it as well. As usual you can't get help here but a lot of inspiration
I recommend to upgrade the firmware using a LAN-connection and try it again. If it's stable keep it that way, if not return it to the store and get a new one.
Before of course make sure there is none of the following settings in your router:
- MAC Adress based filtering allowing only specific clients to connect (unlikely)
- no hidden SSID (wifi's name) (unlikely)
- DHCP turned on. If not, your ATV has to have a fixed IP Adress (unlikely)
- Password and Encryption mechanism is correct
It's 90% the devices fault in my opinion.
