Sep 9, 2016 11:11 PM in response to NanaMac70by MichelPM,If your situation and iPad is the same as the Original Poster (OP) and you never backed up your iPad's data to Apple's iCloud or the latest version of iTunes on a computer prior to your iPad being disabled, the correct answer is you need to connect to iTunes and setup your iPad as new, again!
You lose everything!
This is why you need to have some method and/or more robust and stable hardware to periodically save your mobile device data to.
A mobile computing device is NOT a permanent place to your store important data to. These devices are not as matured, stable and robust enough technology as a full blown laptop or desktop computer to trust for long-term data storage.
You need to have, at least, one other more robust and reliable source to store your important and precious data and images that you never want to lose.
Even on a more robust computer, you need to have/should have a backup of your important data on your computer, that you never want to lose, in case of hard drive failure or some other computer failure.
FYI, cloud storage is fine, still much better to save to a local source like a computer or WiFi enabled portable and external hard drives designed to use with mobile devices.
These are available from Seagate or Western Digital and there is even a new WiFi enabled USB Flash drive from SanDisk called the SanDisk Connect that comes in a variety of storage sizes that works with any iDevice.
Good Luck!

LOL. Hard drives may be "matured," but their robustness is highly questionable. I've had two 2TB Seagate drives fail after less than a year of use. I have come to believe that multi-terabyte hard drives are not as durable as their smaller capacity predecessors. Though I may be wrong about that specifically, a fool and their not-backed up hard-drive data will soon be separated. Everything that I really care about is stored on at least two hard drives. The stuff I really care about is stored on three, one of which is a portable that I keep at work and take home and update regularly.

Sep 10, 2016 9:01 PM in response to sallenmdby MichelPM,The important stuff that I never want lose is archived to CD/DVD data discs.
A much more permanent and still the only storage media left that will keep data longer than on ANY physical hard drives or longevity untested SSDs.
Without optical media, what long term data storage mediums are, currently, available?
None.
I have more or less redundant data on three large capacity (1 and 2 TB) spinning platter hard drives.
Kinda still an expensive method to keep moving data to new hard drives if one or more hard drives begin to fail.
While SSDs are quick for storing, reading and writing data, at this early stage of this technology, their data storage longevity is still, more or less, untested and unproven.

Sep 10, 2016 10:52 PM in response to MichelPMby sallenmd,I also have my most cherished pictures on optical. I wonder if there will be anything capable of reading them 50 years from now. I also wonder about their true durability given some things I've read, but I have music CDs from the mid-'80s that have been stored in a lot of conditions over those 30 years and still play perfectly.
