how do I open more than one internet window?

I am new to this have many questions please do not lol. How do I open more than one internet window at a time. Where do I find what current software I have. and I have been using microsoft windows for student whats the best for on here?

in safari, you can click safari>new window, or click the + symbol in the righthand corner. To find what current version of OS X you have >about this mac and it will say 10.x.x. also, read this http://www.apple.com/support/mac101/
