    Personally I would use a Firewire 800 external HD. You can even set it up so you can boot from it if you wish.

    I agree with RRFS

     

    I'm running Mountain Lion from an External FireWire Drive right now and I'm not getting any delays or Spinning Beach Balls. Heck' even USB External Drives run pretty good, they just take a little longer to initially boot up.

    Thank you all for the great help, i all ready run the same setup as you do, i was just woundering how to remove the case on the imacrear case to place a bigger drive but ill think ill leave it as is like the old saying"If it's working ok leaving it alone" thank you all again
