Me again.....I have no idea how HT5306 showed up on my post, nor do I know what it means.
Please bear with me as I said I'm a new user of Macs.
The HT5306 header appeared because you came here from that support article, and that's all it means.
As to the problem, what version of OS X is your iMac running? The ARD 3.6 client is only for Lion and Mountain Lion systems, so if your iMac is running Mac OS X 10.6 or earlier, it's not eligible for that version of the client.
