Solid amber is a complete lockup on the AirPort Express, often indicating a defective Express.

Power off the Express

Wait at least 5 minutes

Hold in the reset button first, then continue to hold in the reset button for an additional 7-8 seconds while you simultaneously plug the Express back in to power

Release the reset button after the hold period and give the Express a full minute to restart

If the reset is successful, the amber light will blink slowly in 45-50 seconds after you release the reset button.

If no luck, try the procedure above again.

If you try this 3-4 times with no luck, the Express is defective and will need to be replaced
