How do I send an iBook as a gift via email (with download link)?

Apparently, iBooks can't be sent as gifts??????? How totally lame! Talk about narrowing you potential market, How hard is it to email receipient a code (link) that downloads the iBook? Wow, sometimes the little things are the big things.

Yea, I know about gift cards, but that is not the same thing at all.
