Can't empty trash?

I'm trying to empty my trash of a program i want to get rid of, but i can't because it says the program is in use. How to I close the program if I can't find it running? I don't know if it matters but the program is macx-iphone-mounter.dmg.

Sorry, I'm a new mac user, just made the switch from PC and am very confused...
