iTunes will not sync apps to my iPad 2

I am restoring my iPad 2 because I am having iOS problems (crashing, weird bugs, etc.). I want to import all my photos, apps, etc. to my MacBook Pro, but iTunes will not let me sync apps (the box is darkened and will not let me click). The computer is authorized to use my iTunes account. I have tried to deauthorize and reauthorize, and it doesn't work. Anyone has help for this?
