i bought my macbook pro a couple hours ago with the new software(mountain lion) and i cannot find the imessage icon...can someone please tell me where i can find it or what i should do??

It's in the Dock, but it's called Messages in the system
but how do i get there?
it is not there....i need another way to find it...please help!
Press command and space bar at the same time, thn type "Messages."

Are you sure you have Mountain Lion installed on your computer!
Open > About this Mac and see if you have 10.8 in the Mac. To request the free upgrade to 10.8, http://www.apple.com/osx/uptodate
This is sooo strange..i literally just bought my mac today and it is not have mountian lion installed!!! thank you guys for all your help...i will go to apple in the morning or call them to get this problem fixed and i really really appreciate your help!!!!
Open your hard drive and then go to the /Applications folder (this is also available in the Finder sidebar by default), and then scroll down to locate the program.
The program is simply called "Messages" and not "iMessages" (no "i"), so if you sort the folder's contents alphabetically it will be next to Mail and other "M" applications.
Don't call Apple or go to the Apple Store. Just go this website to request your free upgrade to Mountain Lion.
