my iMovie is stuck on generating thumbnails and will not move, it has been stuck for hours now, i have read online for hours now and i have deleted the .plist, i have repaired the disk, restarted my computer + reinstalled iMovie which cost me another 10.49 when i got it pre installed already !!! i do gaming videos and use iMovie so i need desperate help please !!!

try
deleting iMovie .plist file/s (depending if you have for a previous version)
locate the iMovie Events folder
delete all the thumbnail folders
reopen imovie forcing it to recreate fresh imovie thumbnails.
Great. Thank youI had the same problem and followed your advice by deleting my thumbnails in my iMovie Events folder. It generated new thumbnails and now I'm back in action.
