I bought my imac recently and realized that comes with the keyboard without cedilla. I want to install a keyboard Portuguese, with cedilla, because I work at two other sites that have this type of keyboard. I'm typing course and keep changing my speed keyboard compromises. I'm not able to find help for this.

I was very disappointed to see that Apple is marketing a product not available in Brazil and the Portuguese keyboard and am having great difficulty to solve the problem.

You can generate a c-with-cedilla on any keyboard, such as the US keyboard, by holding Option and pressing c = ç Ç

You can use a Portuguese (Brazil) or Portuguese (Portugal) keyboard translation using

System preferences > Language & Text > ...

... and adding Portuguese to the list of keyboard translations, then moving it to the top of the list.

O problema permanece.

A Apple deveria fornecer um teclado português no Brasil.

I've done it and did not solve the problem. I have to correct mistakes all the time because the keyboard Brazilian and U.S. are different in other things besides the cedilla. Accents are in different locations in the two keyboards, resulting in the need to correct all the time or typographical errors.

I have a keyboard microsoft wireless multimedia keyboard 1.1 in Portuguese that is accepted by the mac, but does not recognize the key cedilla, is the location of accents in different location.

The problem remains.

Apple should provide a keyboard Portuguese in Brazil.

I am sorry the keyboard provided does not match the other portuguese keyboards you use with other computers.

Perhaps the keyboard vendor ¿Microsoft? has a driver that can change the key translations to your liking.

Readers here are other users like you, we do not work for Apple. Maybe the Apple Store in a big city can provide more help.

Those are not keyboard translations, they are translations of the OS interface language, and adding or moving them will not have any effect on the keyboard layout.
