Hi, ever since I downloaded Mountain Lion Mail has been tremendously slow. Does anyone have any solutions?

Same problem here. I found some "solution" that had me remove iCloud synchronization from Contact but that didn't really help.
I think I have mine fixed but don't know how it really is realted. I deleted my Logs and Cache folders from my /library/ folder and then restarted. Since then mac mail is cruizing along nicely. To access that folder you need to open finder and then hightlight your Macintosh HD and then press Shift-Command-G
I deleted the logs and caches folder, not knowing the consequences because my mail was so brutally slow. It worked, even without rebooting! I'm finally able to zip through emails. I thought my whole system was dying!
