OS X 10.7 server turn off SMB service

I have an OS X 10.7.4 server and would like to disable SMB. I have found the check box to turn off SMB shairing on a spicific shares but how do I disable the service complealty?


I did find in the system preferences in the file sharing service the abiltiy to turn off "Share files and folders using SMB (Windows) is this now where this service should be disabled?

Yes, this is it. But, may I ask why you want to do this? Just curious.

Is it because your Windows machines keep getting dumped from the server?

If so, are you trying to find another way to connect them?


We have learned that OS X server for Lion & Mtn. Lion no longer support SMB1 & 2 protocols, so this was done (apparently) on purpose.
