Q: My 3G isn't working on the new ipad

I'm having trouble when I'm out and about using my iPad, I have the wifi and cellular all set up 2 my carrier and if I'm at home my wifi works fine but as soon as I'm out I can't connect 2 any 3G or Internet! It was workin for about a month then all of a sudden it has stopped :-(

I've tried resetting the network settings and rebooting the iPad but nothing! I have contacted the carrier who I'm with and they have told me that my connections are fine there end so it's something to do with the actual iPad!

Any help right now would be much appreciated! Thanx

iPad, iOS 5.1.1

I have the same issue, however as a periodic note I will have a connection once in while for about 10 minutes, but never any longer than that.  Just a note as well my signal strength is full or almost full.

Your signal strength can show as full...and your network can be working great...but there are SO many variables that can affect connectivity, in fact I had a device with same things happening...and supposedly everything SHOULD have been working, so they assumed it was the device, but even after replacing..I still had the same issues.  Then I got a NEW device...and it was WORST lol!

So I went back to using my original device...cause it at least worked sometimes, but as soon as I moved a few months later...it worked GREAT!!!

Come to find out, it was the towers in my surrounding area that weren't working properly, one of which I found out had been down completely for a period.

With that said, it may be the case for you...or not.  You can try restoring the device, if that doesn't work it's either the carrier or the device, so you can contact Apple or go into a nearby Apple Store, but I have heard of cases similar to mine, so you might call your carrier back and ask them about any tower or signal issues in your area.

    Hope that helps!

I don't understand why it is only my iPad that is the problem as I also have the iPhone 4 and it's with the same carrier but I can get any network coverage/ connectivity on my phone and not the iPad even tho they can b right next 2 each other!

Thank you for the attempt, but as Tory mentioned.  I too have an Iphone 4, and I have zero issues with its connectivity in the exact same areas that I have issues with my iPad.  I just find it a little wierd that I have great internet with it for about 5-10 minutes but then its like a firewall is sut up around it and it stops working very abruptly
