Something strange with google search..

Something strange has happened with google...it's stuck on permanent zoom or something, like I have accessibility enabled, but I don't, and it only happens with google, everything else is normal. It's really zoomed in and blurry. The text is also chunky and kind of difficult to read..like it's too big for the search bar, and the little symbol on the search button is like off to the side, it's just clearly messed up. I've never had this problem before and can't figure out for the life of me what's causing it. It goes away if I switch to classic mode from tablet, but Id always used tablet prior to this and it was fine. I'd really like to fix tablet mode so I can use it or find a way to permentalety switch to classic because starting out on tablet and having to switch every time is a pain. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I guess that I should have asked to be sure .... but you are talking about the Google search bar in the Safari app - correct? If we are on the same page, try quitting Safari completely and then relaunch it.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.

Launch Safari again.

I know of no way for the Google search to automatically go the to Classic site. Google directs the browser to mobile site because you are using a mobile device. You cannot control that in mobile browser like Safari. If you were using another web browser idenitifed as a desktop browser, you could set the page to Classic and it will stay there. I use iCab Mobile (I gave up Safari ages ago) and I indentify the browser as Fire Fox 4.0 for Mac and it always takes me to the Classic site.

One last time... this is where you are having this issue? Can you post a screen shot? Do you know how to do that? Hold down on the sleep button and then tap the home button and you will see the screen flash white and hear the camera shutter sound. That screen shot will be saved to the camera roll and it will be the last photo in the album.

It's that search bar, on the start page. That's not a snapshop of my ipad just my mac, easier to upload. But when I type in there it's just chunky and overlaps, and the google is slightly blurry like it's been zoomed in too much, and sometimes the results are blurry too, sometimes not, but theyre always zoomed in. Maybe I should switch to iCab too, I really don't know what could be the problem..

You can try this ....

Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

You don't necessarily have to delete the history - but it might help if you clear everything to really want to find out if this will work.

This might be worth a try as well.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

That is how you force close an app but it does close the app.

The only other things that I can thin of are to go to Settings>Safari>Search Engine>choose anything but Google. Go back to Safari and see how that looks. Then go back to Settings>Safari>Search Engine and then select Google again and see what happens.

Or Settings>Safari>Advanced>Web Site Data - find Google in the list and delete it and see what happens in Safari.

I want to confirm - we are talking about the Search field in the Safari browser - is that correct?

Well obviously I had the incorrect Google Search bar in mind and that is why I posted my iPad screen shot.

I have tried every that I can to replicate what you are seeing in Safari on your iPad. I just can't do it. I even switched to Google Canada like your are showing on your Mac screen shot and still could not get the results with the blurry, chunky letters.

I don't know what else to suggest. I don't see any way to clear the Google cache within Safari so I really am at a loss. Have you tried changing the Google country just to see what happens? It can't be an issue with Goggle Canada or it would splashed all over the news, but its something to try to refresh Google in the browser.
