Thanks for the swift response. I have followed the instructions from the link, but do not appear to have a fax option in Print & Scan/Utilities. Odd because the printer is an Epson Photo PX800FW, wireless with fax. I can fax hard copy and receive faxes. I had thought that with Mountain Lion I would have been able to fax direct from any Apple software. Anyway thanks again from a very hot Mallorca!
Make sure Epson's drivers are up to date for 10.8, and find out if the issue is with printing over a network versus USB. If neither helps, then the drivers from Epson need updating for that particular printer.
It appears that the last driver update by Epson for this piece of kit was 2008. I'm going to print hard copy and fax for now, but will try a mail to Epson. Thanks for your help.
