Q: setting up findmyiphone on my sons account

my son recently lost his iphone, he was on my account which was lovely while he was out & about. with the find my phone app,

  since buying his new one because,whoever found his phone was smart enough to shut all down.. he has created his own account name & password, is there any way to put his phone back on my account somehow ,without knowing his password

  I have read on line about putting  the store under my old name n password so he can charge & still use his own account,will setting a different accout for him to use for purchases(since he doesnt have a charge card) work for locating his phone?

You will need to send him an invite for Find Friends, obviously he doesn't need to accept it, but he won't need to disclose his account details if he does.

 

Unless he is prepared to share his account details with you, you won't be able to use Find My Phone to track his phone.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

     

    Find my friends will still work despite him having a different account to you.

     

    Find my phone will work in the vast majority of web browsers on most computers by simply logging into iCloud.com using his account details.

    Thanks ,i know his username, but mr big shot will not tell me his password.....you know @ 17 "mom im old enough to take care of my stuff! pffffffffT my arss & i like checking on his where abouts when he tells me he IS somewhere....

     

    How do i hook up find my friends? just from my phone(not too comp savvy)& these kids are 100 steps ahead!

    Can i set up his store acct under my old acct & will that work too?
