10.8 OD Users cannot connect via ssh

Have verified local (non-network) accounts can log into a 10.8 server via ssh over lan. Try the same thing with an OD user ("local network account") - even one given admin priv's, and see this:

sshd: in od_record_check_homedir(): failed: 7

sshd: error: PAM: permission denied for <username> from <ip_address>

The OD user account were configured for "Services Only" for the 'Home Folder'.

Is this error expected?

More info.........

If a home directory is created for a Network User then, and only then, does the ssh authentication to OD succeed. Is this expected behavior?

Anyone?

One of the requirements of both ssh & ftp is that the user have a valid homedirectory (probably because both protocols dump you into your homedir by default), that should be in the documentation somewhere, if not it needs to be fixed.
