Q: when connected to a powersource the ipod nano seems to work. When I unplug it from the powersourse, it will not come on. It doesn't even let me reset the ipod. I've even done a "restore" on this and it keeps doing the same thing. Any advice?
When connected to a powersource the ipon nano seems to work. When I disconnect it, it doesn't.
I've tried resetting and it won't reset.
I've even done a restore throught the computer and it restores, but still does not come on when disconnected from the computer.
Any advice as to what to do?

So the iPod only powers on when connected to an external power source such as a USB port on your PC or Mac or when connected to a wall charger? If so, that is a very good indication that your iPod's battery is shot and in need of replacement.
Apple can swap it out for a flat fee or you can send it to a third party repair service for a bit less.
