Getting username in script

Hi All

Was trying to set up a script for on login that mount the kerberos authenticated users home drive but cant figure out what the system variable is at the terminal

command line the username is found in USER but that doesnt seem to work . How would i retrieve this in applescript?

mount volume “smb://server/” & USER
