Strange problem with Logic on Mountain Lion
Hi Guys,
I'm having a really annoying issue with my copy of Logic on Mountain Lion 10.8 OS X Build 12A269 ( The latest public release)
Details:
Mac processor 2 GHZ Intel Core i7
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHZ DDR3
O.S. Mountain Lion
Logic 9.1.7 (32 Bit)
Issue:
Once channel EQ analyser is run on logics own channel EQ the system becomes extremely slow and very quickly unresponsive. The audio continues to play however any button presses or attempts to move or exit the application are futile. Eventually when it appears that that system "catches up on itself" it looks like all inputs were recorded and quickly are responded to by the system. By turning off the analyser sometimes it can avoid the problem however if the user then turns it back on the issue replicates.
TLDR:
In a nutshell - after mucking about in Logic for any period of time over 10 minutes on mountain lion it stops responding, I cant click to 'x' out of analyzers/pop up windows, all other UI Elements are unresponsive and then after about 30 second delay it all starts working again.
This issue keeps happening, I've tried basic trouble shooting.
Anyone else seeing this?? I'm using a Focusrite 8I6 Scarlett.
Also I never see the OS X Beachball when this happens.
Recreation:
1- New project
2- New audio track
3- Settings- audio to 96.0000KHZ (personal recording preference and probably not required)
4- Record (for this sample placed in MP3 audio file for test editing)
5- Activate channel EQ (at this stage no issue will occur)
6- Turn on compressor on channel (not changing any settings as S.O.P when recording)
7- Duplicate track and copy and paste audio onto the new track
8- Mute that track (this is just to simulate normal operating environment using other functions)
9- Add a limiter to the original track and add loads of tracks to simulate mixing
10- This can take some time to have this problem surface
Seeing this in the console when just after the issue occurs:
