MacBook Air and epson workforce 545 printer two sided printing wont work

I have an Epson 645 - so I'm guessing the option works the same way for a 545.

When you go to, for example, File --> Print, you should see a display that looks something like this:

Click on the bar that says "Safari" on the right side (it will say whatever app you are printing from). One of the choices will be "Output Settings" down near the bottom. From there, you may choose 2 sided printing!

Hmmm ...

It doesn't say anything about two sided printing!

Are you sure your printer is capable of it (short of manually flipping the paper in the tray)?

For future reference, you can take a screen shot of the entire screen with Shift-Command-3. You can take a screen shot of a rectangular area with Shift-Command-4.

I too have a 545. I bought it just a few months before I purchased my imac. The printer was used in a windows formatt during that time and I had the ability to manually perform two sided printing. On the "mac" there is no option for that. I called mac and was told to call Epson. I called epson and was told that printer never had the ability to do two sided printing. I tried my best to explain to the support person that "yes" it can...not automatically but MANUALLY. A box would pop up that told me to turn the paper around and it worked perfectly. Anyway, after an hour or so I finally gave up. If I have to print out 20-30 pages I can't do it on both sides. I want to buy another printer but don't know what to do for fear I will end up with the same problem. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks in advance, Mike

I answered this above. The Epson Workforce 645 is basically the same as the 545 but it also does automatic two sided printing. It is supported by AirPrint.
