Q: Requesting help with AirPlay

i just purchased and set up my apple tv. It and my ipad are both connected to my home network. How do I get it to airplay? my airplay is on on my tv

Apple TV, iOS 5.1.1

I really don't know. I can't use Airplay on my setup. I'm sorry I can't help with this question. I can only suggest that you be sure you can use Airplay with your hardware.

AirPlay

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).

Thanks for helping.....A few more questions if you have a second.
I just purchased the newest appleTV and want to see safari on my tv while I surf. I am not seeing any airplay icon except in my videos app. Is it possible to do?

Its working now........thanks. It just took a few to get the AirPlay icon to show up
