Do you think these people know how to downgrade or even go to DFU mode?

imessages started working on my ipod again. all i did was once again delete my icloud account for what has to be the 20th time and then i signed back in and everything started working again.  I think it's something to do with apple's icloud servers because on my ipad, the email app has randomly stopped pushing messages and then it randomly starts working again.

Can't be their servers because i'm getting steady messages.

    Very fast picture messages too.

And that has been since this problem started.

iMessage works, just have to get the Validation Link to send like I keep saying.

honesetly I don't think this is the issue. I have tried your method and it didn't work

i can get imessage to work periodically. but it will randomly stop working along with my email pushing messages. I then have to sign out of imessage, sign out of icloud, sign out of itunes and then restart the device and sign back in and everything will work again.

However I have found that whenever i restart the device while everything is still working, it will NOT be working once the device boots back up. so then i have to sign out, restart the device again and then sign back in. then everything will be working fine until it randomly stops working again. and no this is not my internet connection. it's has been working just fine all day on my laptop

what i find interesting is that when imessage isn't working, the email app does not push messages and when the imessage app is working, the email app is working.

I have tested this on both my ipod 4th gen and my ipad 2 (wifi only version) and they both are doing the same thing.

You have a completely different problem.

Anyone having the simular problem of Chances, just restore and see if that helps.

You can find instructions of how to restore on Apples site.

If you have not Validated your Apple ID for iMessage then you don't need to restore just try to get that email to send so you can Validate it.

Hope this helps and I hope iOS 6.1 comes out with all these bug fixes!

Go to > settings>messages>then turn on imessage. To turn on Facetime go to Settings>Facetime> then turn Facetime on

this appears to be an issue whenever the wifi gets disconnected, turned off and then back on, or if you reset network settings. I have and ipod touch 4th gen and ipad 2 and they are both doing the same thing. this only started to occur once i installed ios6

well today when i turned on my ipod, imessage magically started working again. i didn't reset any settings or sign out of any accounts. this has been consistent with my ipad2 in which if i turn the wifi off and then back on, imessage will stop working.

but then i took it out with me while i was doing some errands and when i got home and connected back to my wifi imessage wasn't working again. this appears to be an issue whenever the wifi gets disconnected, turned off, or reset.

You could try a hard reset.

Hold the Power and Home button until you see the Apple Logo. Let go of the buttons and wait for it to reboot.

Then you can see if the problem persists when disconnecting and reconnecting from WiFi.

If it keeps happening, do a clean restore of iOS 6.0 NO Beta version!

i have already tried both of those solutions to no avail.

Went back to ios5 and i had no problems. did a clean install of ios6 and the problems returned

it's either an ios6 software glitch or a server bug on apple's part.

several other users have reported the same prolems of imessage working until wifi has been reset. after wifi reset it will start working again eventually.

    How did you downgrade?

Apple isn't signing iOS 5 anymore.

Did it a couple days ago when they were still allowing it

Doing the reset thing worked for me.

    Thanks for the help.

There is a way to start iMessage, which I will be posting later because my iPod is dead right now.

iMessage isn't the only thing there is for texting. There are apps too. Like "TextMe". With this app you can text more than just iPads, iPods and iPhones. You can text anything. If you download "TextMe 2", you can even call and video call too. For those who don't have FaceTime.

Don't buy an iPhone just for that because there are many apps that you can call and text with.

I will be posting how to start FaceTime and iMessage in a bit. You don't even have to do all the resetting things.

They will both start working as soon as youdo that one change in settings. It litterly only takes five seconds and it magically starts working right away!

For what it's worth, I had this same problem but I caused it.  iPod touch 4th gen, IOS 6.

We traveled over time zones, and my timezone didn't update automatically.  It just gave me the swirly icon for the time zone, and my clock stayed on pacific time.  (Probably Apple couldn't guess the time zone based on my wifi connection?)

Suddenly iMessage stopped working.  It asked me to sign in, and then asked me which email to use.  After saying "Verifying..." for a few seconds, the screen goes back to the sign in screen with no error message.

I set the date and time back to set automatically.  It still can't determine the time zone so it switched me back to pacific time, but iMessage works just fine.
