I've been using the native sync funtion (setup in the "accounts" section under the "preferences" menu) in address book for sometime to sync address book with my Yahoo email contacts. It has worked fine. But, I "upgraded" to OS X 10.8 and it now fails. I get the following error message: "The operation couldn’t be completed. (CoreDAVHTTPStatusErrorDomain error 503.)"

Any help? My guess is that Apple inadvertantly broke the sync and will need a patch to fix it. But would be great if there was a workaround!

1. Go to Contacts > Preferences > Accounts and delete and add it

2. Open Finder, press Option key and select Go > Library. Open Preferences folder and delete com.apple.AddressBook.plist

3. Go to Disk Utility and repair permissions to check issues

I've heard of this issue before and as far as I know the problem may be also in Yahoo itself - their CardDAV services not always work correctly. But if the solution mende 1 suggested won't help, you can try to sync contacts on Mac and Yahoo with SyncMate (http://www.sync-mac.com/cloud-sync.html)

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it didn't work. The file you said I should delete does not exist. I looked in that directory and I also searched in many different ways/places. Also exposed hidden files to make sure it wasn't hidden. Still no luck. I did repair permissions anyway.

I have exactly the same problem. I am completely new to Mac and therefore have no idea how to to the fix suggested by Mende 1... any clues....!?!

Actually I have just sorted it the old fashioned way. Just go to Yahoo mail and export your contacts, then the download will be loaded up using contacts app and hey presto, sorted. Hope this helps! 🙂

Unfortunately, mende1 method didn't work for me too. I am still waiting for a solution...

As I wrote here (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4148957?answerId=19264278022#19264278022&tstart=0#19264278), I think Yahoo is probably involved in the bug, but very dificult to contact :-(

I´ve got exactly the same problem you have... no answer to this question... no official answer from apple neither in any of the communities regaring the same issue.

You do realize that these forums (communities) are strictly user to user - Apple does not participate.
