Slow internet speeds on Macbook - don't want to clear cache

Try a different DNS server .. OpenDNS

Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.

Click +

Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.

208.67.222.222

Click +

208.67.220.220

Then click OK.

Quit then relaunch Safari to test.

Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found

You are a Godsend. I did exactly as you instructed and now my computer is zipping along as fast as can be! I don't understand what all those numbers do, but I appreciate the advice!!

My Macbook internet has been very slow after Yosemite and it was getting me very frustrated. I mean, it cost me over a £1000 yet my daughters cheapish Hp laptop performs better internet speeds. After being in contact with Apple, who are nice but didnt really do anything, i cam across your blog and tried what you said, and hey presto.....super fast again. I can't thank you enough and maybe you should have a word with Apple tech help. Oh and this is a message for Caryln samit
