iPhone 4S Frame Rate issue

I have 2 or 3 video clips shot with my iPhone 4S that I need to add to a project I am working on. For some reason instead of the frame rate being 1920x1080, its coming up as 1080x1920. I even used MPEG Streamclip to convert my clips over to Apple Pro Res 422 1920x1080 and it still came up backwards. Any reason why? Also if I convert video shot with the front facing camera 640x480 and convert to 720 or 1080 will that make the video look horrible when I am ready to edit those clips?

The video rate for most of my clips is 24.98 but have other clips where the rate is 29.97. How can this be. These are clips that were all shot with the rear facing camera on the back of the phone. I am noticing the same thing with the front facing camera too. What could be causing the iPhone to shoot at different rates?
