Q: my ipod won't turn off. I can still play/pause, but cannot turn it off

My ipod will not turn off. It still responds to the play/pause, but will not turn off

    There is no way to actually turn the iPod off. Holding the Play/Pause button actually just puts the iPod to sleep.  And after so many hours from that point, it goes into a deeper sleep thus conserving battery life.
