I have a MacBook air and the internet is not working or is super slow at my house is ridiculous slow and I compared to my MacBook 08' which is way faster.. Is just ridiculous when I'm at hotspots like at library it takes around 29 minutes to get connected and after is connected it says there is a problem with the ISP I don't know what to do I had tried a lot of things but nothing works. NOt sure about public places, but at home what you should do is go to system preferences, then go into network and press the '-' symbol and delete your current wifi connection. Then restart the process of connecting to the internet. Obviously make sure you have latest drivers installed as well, because if it isnt drivers, or your settings, It could very well be hardware, or your router? But you do say your other computer is fine so dont know about it being the router.
