Q: HP Photosmart 4500 cannot find my Wi-Fi network.

I've lost my Wireless connection between my Mac and my HP Photosmart 4500 series. I've tried the set up assistants and I run into brick walls. When I re-run my printer set up assistant it says that my device is Wi-Fi compatible, but when I try to add my network on the next page it says I still need to connect the device. It is sitting there connected with the USB. I double checked and I can tell supplie levels and everything when I go to the Printer Utility. Still the assistant says my device is not connected. This is all at the stage where the set-up-assistant should show available networks, and you can add your own. I try to added it and it just says the Device is not connected! It doesn't say whether or not I should now connect it to my Airport or it should still be connected to the Mac. It doesn't say to change to the Airport. I'm lost. It worked fine on my really old laptop, but I can't get it to work on the new MacBook Pro. Yes, I've downloaded all the current software.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)
