Q: How can I change the name of the owner on the sidebar?
I purchased a used Macbook and I want to change the previous owner's name with my name on the Finder Sidebar.
Also I want to get ready of two labels that were put there by accident.
Can somebody help, please?

I've stayed at Snow Leopard on all my family's MacBooks. Not having any iPhones or iPads or any need for iCloud I've not seen the need for Lion.
The only thing I can think of is when you see the Directory Utility window is that in 10.6 you aren't supposed to do anything with the window other than open the lock and then choose Enable Root User from the Edit menu. Then a drop down window will drop from the top of the Directory Utility window and you choose a password for the Root user. Then you Log Out from the Apple and select Other when it asks you who you want to log in as. When the Name and Password window comes up you log in as root and the password you chose.
