ipod classic too warm wont work

hi,

recently my drink leaked in my bag,

took it to ipatch.

they said only needed new battery

later on the ipod kept resetting and showing the red cross with circle around it.

put it in disk mode and managed to restore it. to see if that would help.

then i couldnt even get it into disk mode after restore, just kept going on the red cross thing.

i left it over night, and recently just managed to fully turn it on. I then synced it to itunes, got everything back on ipod.

but then the music wouldnt play. It froze and went on the red cross again.

I presume this only happens when the ipod is warm, because it worked fine this morning.

please help.

i have no money for a new harddrive.
