there is sweat in my iphone screen

I went dancing last night and it was really hot and some sweat got under the screen of my iPhone 3GS. Last night the buttons worked fine but the souch screen wasnt working. This morning the same thing just the the screen is really dark. What should I do? I am really far away from an apple store as well.

There is not much you can do...some users suggest placing the iPhone in a plastic zip-lock bag with dry, uncooked rice for a few days to let the rice absorb the moisture and see if that helps. May not be successful in this case as sweat has a fairly large salt content which can deposit and corrode electronic parts. Try the rice trick and see if that helps. The most viable alternative is an Apple genius bar, at some point, to have the techs check out the iPhone.

If there's moisture in the screen, it's likely present throughout the phone.

1. SHUT IT DOWN

2. Put it in a plastic bag half filled with uncooked rice (silica gel packs are better if you have them), seal the bag, and don't touch the phone for at least 5 days.

3. Don't use heat or a hair dryer on the phone.

4. This has only a small chance of saving the phone. Sweat has salts and other components that will corrode the phone parts, in addition to water. Even if it turns on again, there likely will be progressive problems.
