Although I use "Duplex Printing" often, but I never noticed the 2 boxes at the bottom ("print backgrounds" & "print headers and footers"). Both headers and footers disappeared when updating to Snow Leopard. Thank you very much! [I am also relieved to see the checked "print headers and footers" box appears to remain as the default unless manually changed - couldn't be better!]

Cheers! Linda

I wonder if I could prevail on you re an important problem: photos! Two years ago because of memory shortage on the iMac, I created a new iPhoto folder of my oldest iPhoto albums and saved it to my LaCie external hard drive. From that point forward, I began saving all my new photos on my iMac in iPhoto albums. (Note: The actual iPhoto application is resident only on the iMac.) I (foolishly??) kept the name, "iPhoto library" for both the iMac and LaCie iPhoto library photos.

For 2 years I have had no problems accessing the iMac or the LaCie iPhoto folders by pressing the "option" key when clicking on the iPhoto application icon in my dashboard and choosing either my iMac iPhoto Library or my LaCie iPhoto Library.

THE PROBLEM: Early today, I needed to open/access photos in the older albums on the LaCie external hard drive. I had no trouble doing this and, when finished, exited the iPhoto application. Just now (late afternoon) I tried to open my newer photos in the iMac photo albums (usual "option" key when clicking on the iPhoto icon in my dashboard) BUT I ccould not find the the iMac iPhoto Library! To see if the iPhoto application was the problem, I exited the iPhoto and then re-opened iPhoto (no "option" key) and it again went directly to the LaCie albums and I could not "see" the iMac iPhoto Library listed. I then used "spotlight" to look for the "other" library but no luck. Next I tried opening the iPhoto application directly from the "Applications" folder but got the same result (Goes directly to the LaCie older photo albums).

I am afraid to rebuild the thumb nail photos on the LaCie (only one I can "reach) in case it makes matters worse. It would feel like an amputation of family history and I do home you have a few more brilliant ideas and cogent advice in your back pocket for me. How do I get back to my current albums on the iMac? If I can "find" both, what is the best way to "name" each iPhoto library so that iPhoto recognizes each with a unique name? What other related issues am I not seeing?

Many thanks for any assistance you can lend. It would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Linda
