I can't hear the music on my ipod shuffle. I've tried different earphones but still hear nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Everyone,

Why can't I hear anything on my iPod Shuffle? I've tried different earphones so it must be something else...

Thanks!

iPod shuffle, Windows Vista

First, if you have not already, try a Reset using this procedure

If that does not help, you may wan to do a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes. Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, go to the Summary or Settings tab (depending on shuffle model). The Restore button is there. This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. If the cause is a software or settings glitch, a Restore should fix it.

If that does not help either, the cause is likely to be a hardware problem on the shuffle. If it is less than one year old, you should have it looked at under warranty.
