How to I sync a macbook pro retina with a macbook pro.
I just got a brand new MacBook Pro Retina and I would like to sync it with my old macbook Pro.
I want to use the Superdrive on my old macbook to install some software.
Thanks

Connect them to your LAN, preferably by Ethernet. See:

Hi Kpappy,
the new MacBook pro Retine has no ethernet connector, no firewire.
Apple sells a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adaptor and a Thunderbolt to Firewire adaptor, supposedly, for the Retina model. But if you can't do wired, then do wireless although it will be painfully slow.
It might be faster to copy what you need to an external hard drive that you can use as an intermediary.
On the Mac with the optical drive, select Apple menu > System Preferences > Sharing > DVD or CD Sharing. When you insert a disc, it will appear as a device in the sidebar of a Finder window on another Mac on the local network.
