Q: Notes App: Duplicate entries as I type + sync problems

I have a few problems with the new Notes App. Maybe someone has some ideas on what the problem is. Any help would be much appreciated.

     1. Duplicate entries are appearing as I type, such that whenever I type a new note, it is duplicated for every few characters (including  the title). This means that typing a simple note will create multiple versions (i.e. "H", "He", "Hel", "****", "Hello".). After I'm finished entering the note I have to delete the other previous 20+ versions or whatever. This was happening before attempting to sync via iCloud; and I definately don't have multiple accounts, etc.

     2. I really do not understand the iCloud note sync process at all, maybe someone can explain it to me. I tried activating iCloud Notes syncing (mainly in an attempt to resolve the first issue above). However, to activate iCloud notes sync I was forced to create a new "###@me.com" address (without being requiring to add a password no less), which is strange considering I already have an iCloud account using my apple id. But ok. However, moving over to the iphone and ipad, I don't see any place to enter this info without over-riding my existing iCloud sync account info (the one based on my apple id).

I applaud apple for trying to impliment an easy way to sync devices via iCloud. But I have to say the process has been anything but easy. — and I consider myself to be a pro-user. I feel sorry for the non-computer literate out there. I have a feeling they haven't quite flushed this out completely yet.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

It's about 5 months since the last post here but I am having a similar issue.  I just spent some time at the genius bar and they didn't know what to tell me.  I am using OS X 10.8.5 and I just upgraded my iPhone and iPad to IOS7.  I also just went iCloud for everything when I had been on an exchange server before.  The first thing they checked was to make sure that I only had NOTES checked for iCloud which was the case (I have a number of other accounts though).  My iPhone and iPad don't show the duplicates, it's only my Macbook.  After reading this stream I checked the local version - "On My Mac" and under that is "All On My Mac" and found that all the duplicates were there - and no other notes.  Something weird is going on locally.  My current theory, b/c I can't come up with anything else, is that I THINK it might be when I have weak WiFi.  It seems like the notes get created locally maybe if the WiFi zones out for a moment?  I was recently in a hotel and it was bad service and that's when I got the most duplicates (I only get about 5-10, never a ton) and it doesn't happen all the time.  If anyone new has some thoughts to share, please do.  I'm set up to get alerts on this stream.  Thanks.

I had this problem and I tried the YAHOO fix referred to by

on here but I also  did the recommendation on the link below and I did get a result, just can't remember which one worked.  I kept this link so maybe this is the one that worked, sorry I wasn't more vigilant with recording the fix.  Hope this works for you and you will share the fix.

This worked.  Beware though, it does erase all your previous notes.

    I found this solution

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHjfVG7iZLk

But before I tried that i just deleted all the previous duplicates and the duplication seems to have stopped, so I didn't need to even try the method in the video.
