Q: I have apple connector kit and it dose not read sd cards of any kind  help please

Just got a card reader from apple ,plugged it into my I pad 2  and nothing happens. I have a sdhc platinum 2 8 gig card . There r only 2 jpeg s on it . I also used an older San disk card and nothing

    Pictures do have to be formatted just right in a DCIM folder on the top level of the card, with photo names of 8 characters, no symbols anything else and it just won't see it.

    The kit you bought is a Camera Connection Kit, not necessarily a card reader. One connector is designed to connect to a camera. The other can read photos stored on an SD card that has been formatted in a camera with a DCIM folder and specific types of file names as Diavonex explained.

     

    Many users have found other ways to use the kit but trying to read a plain SD card without the specific type of formatting wil not work.
