word count has disappeared

Hi, i've been using Appleworks 9 successfully with my MacBookPro for a project where my co-editor wants me to use what he has. All has been fine until tonight when i went for word count and got HVURLHandlerErrorDomainError 1033 I'm not sure I have this exactly right. can't find it again, but on the word count pane, nothing appears but the characters, pages, lines, etc. with no numbers on anything. I'm on deadline and will be grateful for any information that can steer me in the right direction.Thanks, Kate
