My MacBook Pro Charger is water damaged...

My mom found it in the washing machine after the wash...

So it was tossed around in water for at least an hour...

What should I do? How long should I wait to try it?

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You should buy a new one, that one will probably never work again.

You can also use the higher-capacity model, which Apple sells in the US for the same price. It is a little heavier, and is less likely to get left in a pocket, but Apple says it has NO bad effects on MacBooks.

You should place store it in a sealed bag with water-absorbing material (like uncooked rice) for at least a week before you try it. Turn it daily. Plan on it smoldering and refusing to work, and you will not be disappointed. (if by some miracle, it works, you have backup charger.)
