iPhoto 6 and Nikon's Coolpix S6

Hello,

I have the latest version of iPhoto, and I'm using Nikon's Coolpix S6 digital camera, which has a wireless transfer option built in, but I'm not sure how to transfer my pictures wirelessly to iPhoto. Can this be done? or am I stuck with the program from Nikon?

I know I can transfer them via USB to let it work fine with iPhoto, but that makes the wireless feature pointless.

I'm not sure i fthis is the right area for this post, so if it's not, please move it 🙂

Thanks,
Chris

Your camera came with Wi-Fi . If you do not have it in your computer
you have to buy it . Different than Bluetooth . I bought the Nikon Coolpix S6
and like you I have to buy more Apple software and hardware . Apple is
always looking for a way to get more and more $$$ from its clientele .

Thanks but no thanks . I choose to remain wired and save and save some
more .

I've just bought a Nikon S7c which is almost the same as the S6 in that it has the built in wifi.

I've found that when you go to install the Nikon software it gives the option of just installing the wireless set up utility. You don't have to install the Nikon image software.

I was then able to tell the camera about my wireless network and any WEP keys it has. (You have to connect via your USB cable for this to enable the settings upload to the camera)

Now every time I start wifi on the camera it detects my network and connects to it. At this point iPhoto 6 happily opens on its own, detects the photos on my camera and, after clicking the import button, starts to download.

No problem 🙂
