iPad hot in case?

I have a Belkin Smooth Folio case on my new iPad (http://www.belkin.com/uk/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=649058).

My iPad was in the case, and I had it connected to my Apple TV via Airplay, and I noticed it got pretty hot towards the back of the iPad in the case.

Is this a generic iPad thing, is it my case, or the fact I connected it to Apple TV?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Oh okay, so it's not abnormal for the iPad to generate heat in a case? I'm okay to leave mine in the case, then?

Not abnormal for it to get warm but If it gets hot - then there might be a problem. My new iPad is in an Otterbox Defender case and it completely encloses the iPad. It gets warm - but it does not get "hot".

Remove it from the case and see if it still gets as warm as it does when in the case. If it is significantly cooler outside of the case, you may want to reconsider using that case or have the iPad looked at.

If the iPad becomes uncomfortably warm and you can't touch it because it's too warm, that is definitely a problem. The new iPad gets warmer than the first two iPad generations but not so warm that you can't handle it. If this happens, have the iPad evaluated by Apple.

If the iPad returns to a normal comfort level when you remove it from the case, then you can assume that your current case is not a good fit for the device.

But if that were the case here - no pun intended - then that case would not be on the market. Only you know how warm or hot the iPad is getting since we don't have access to your iPad.

No matter what you find when you remove it from the case, if you are still unsure, take it to an Apple Store and let a genius take a look at it.
