I have had no luck using the restore software I don't have XP, WHAT CAN i DO?

My 2nd gen shuffle has been playing up lately today it gave up and everytime I plug the USB in I get an error message that I need to resore. I have read the info but once I downloded and tried to run the software I found that my version of windows dosen'tsupport it, I am stumped, So any advice would be greatly appriciated.
