Q: icloud setup every startup

Since installing Mountain Lion, every time I logon to my mac it asks me if I want to setup icloud on the computer via my apple id I have done this a number of times now but it still keeps asking me at every login.

Can anyone help?

Try these two things, open Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) and Repair Disk Permissions on your HD. Do that step 2x, then restart in bookmarks folder bookmarks folder Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible you have a corrupt cache.

ran repair disk permissions 2x, both times found hundreds of isues and reported them as repaired.
Tries safe mode but not sure saef mode actually started because never saw red "safe mode" indicator on grey screen (as I expected), how do I know safe mode has started?

Please read Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions messages that you can safely ignore and you will know if the computer started in Safe Mode if you see a progress bar appear when OS X is loading. If you don't see the progress bar then you are NOT following directions.
