Will iTunes work with an AMD 64-bit processor?

I recently bought an ASUS laptop that uses and AMD Brazos Dual Core C60 processor. When I tried to download iTunes, the installer interface fails and it will not load so that I can load the product. Is there a patch or fix so that I can download iTunes to my laptop? I have not been able to find anything online so far. I'd like to be able to use this laptop with my Apple TV and TV products. Thanks.

AppleTV 2, Windows 7, AMD Processor

Hello b noir,

Sorry for my delay in responding.

I did not receive an error message, what happened is that I would start the install and approximately one minute in after seeing "Starting Applications", "Validating Install" and "Copying New Files" flashing in the window, I would then see successive messages that said "Removing Applications" and then the install would freeze for approximately 6 mins. and then I would get a new window that said, "Installer unable to finish" and give me the choice to cancel out of the install.

This happened 3 times.

So, this morning I backed up my HD, reinstalled Win 7 Pro and just now, the 4th time, it finally installed fully. It appears to be working 🙂

Not sure why it didn't work the previous 3 tries, but glad it did work. Finally.
