Duplicate Voice memos Discovered as Source of 'Other'
I finally discovered the source of the ever-incresaing 'other' storage category on my iPhone: a series of seemingly never-ending duplicates of a couple dozen original voice memos. For as yet unknown reasons, every time I back-up my iPhone, rather than incrementally backing up changes to the voice memos, iTunes/iOS chooses instead to duplicate the exisiting original voice memo. This leads to a creep of, in my case, about 10-15 MBs of data unnecessarily being back-up with each sync. I'm continuing to investigate why this may be occuring. Perhaps it's some weird combination of settings someplace that's telling it to duplicate rather than increment? Anyway, if anyone else has any info on why this might be occuring, please reply. I've since deleted the duplicated voice memos from my phone (using DiskAid). Since I can't delete native iOS apps (without jailbreaking), I guess I'll have to chalk this up to one more reason that I'll consider switching away from the iPhone when it comes time to buy a new phone.
