footnote in TextEdit

Hi all:

I've just bought a MAC. Please advise on how to use footnotes and pagination.

TextEdit->Help->TextEdit Help->search for footer. That handles pagination. AFAIK, you can't add footnotes. Fro that, use a word processing app.

Adding page numbers to printed documents

You can print the page number, date, and document title on each page of a TextEdit document.

To add page numbers to printed documents:

  1. Choose File > Print. If the Print dialog contains only two pop-up menus and some buttons across the bottom, click the disclosure triangle to the right of the Printer pop-up menu.
  2. Select “Print header and footer.”

On each page of your document, TextEdit prints a header and footer that include the page number, date, and title.
